Official statement by the Home Office that the Tier 1 (Investor) visa is not currently suspended

Tuesday 11th December 2018

Further to our news posted last week, we have just received the confirmation from the Home Office that "The Tier 1 (Investor) visa is not currently suspended"!

Last Thursday (6 December 2018), The Home Office announced that the Tier 1 (Investor) visa will be suspended until further notice constitutes a rule that decision makers will refuse to consider a validly made application submitted after the relevant date proposed at short notice.

However, we received the confirmation from the Home Office today that there is no suspension as yet of the Tier 1 (Investor) visa. It is also said that government remains committed to reforming the route. A further announcement will be made in due course.

Existing Tier 1 Investors and those who have recently submitted the initial Tier 1 Investor application are not required to take any action. Investors who are about to apply should move forward with your application before Home Office make any further changes.

If you are concerned about the impact of the suspension on your initial or extension application, contact our Tier 1 specialists. We can advise on the current status of applications and the requirements for eligibility.
